Presentation time: Wednesday, 19 April, 2023 - 11:00

Join our panel to discuss their experiences and share stories of how students have made best use of the ideas of others, and how you can learn from where things have gone ‘off track’ a little.

The panel will discuss different sources of ideas, the reasons why you might want to use other people’s arguments, and how to make sure you are including the best bits. You will learn how to make sure you give credit where it is due and avoid any accusations of plagiarism.

We will also look at how citing sources and references are real skills; this session focuses on a broader discussion, rather than the specific detail on how to format references. We will let you know about some of the fantastic resources available.

This live session is linked to the Adobe Connect workshop Confidently using other people’s ideas, (taking place on 18 April) where students work through some of the practical elements of using the ideas of others.
