Alex Hession

I’m an experienced Careers and Employability Consultant having worked in this role for thirty years. Prior to the OU I have worked as a Careers Adviser in schools and FE colleges in Scotland and England, The College of Law in Chester and Curtin University in Western Australia.

Emily Upex

Employer Engagement Coordinator, based in Nottingham. Emily works with Mary Older to connect STEM employers with OU students and graduates.

Karen Foley

Karen Foley is a lecturer at The Open University and oversees Student Hub Live, The Open University’s live online interactive platform to facilitate academic community. Chair of Y032 People, Work and Society, Karen is involved in the Open and Access programmes.

Mary Older

Mary is the Employer Engagement Manager for STEM, and her role focusses on connecting employers with OU students and graduates, through vacancy promotion and through running events such as online careers fairs and insight days.
