Ray Adcock

Ray is the new area representative for students in Continental Europe and lives in SW France. 

He began studying with the Open University in 1990 in order to improve his career opportunities in the UK and graduated with a BSc (Hons) in 1994. This also later proved invaluable when pursuing a second career as a government adviser in the UAE, since a degree qualification was a prerequisite for the post. 

Whilst in the Middle East, Ray took up study with the OU again and graduated with an LLM (Distinction) in International Law in 2017, but health issues dictated that he stop work and so he moved to France and is now studying for a BA (Hons) in French and Classical studies. 

Ray and his wife enjoy walking their two whippets near the small hamlet where they live in the middle of the cognac vineyards and with time on his hands he wanted to ‘give something back’ by volunteering with the OU Students Association.
