Dr Carolin Decker-Lange is a Senior Lecturer in Management at the Department of Public Leadership & Social Enterprise at The Open University Business School. Before joining The Open University in April 2018, Carolin held academic positions at UWE Bristol Business School, the University of Bremen and WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management in Germany. During her time as a doctoral student in Berlin, she developed an interest in strategy and entrepreneurship. As a post-doctoral researcher at WHU, she lost her heart to family enterprises, which since then have been her favourite topic in research and teaching. Carolin enjoys practising Ashtanga yoga, reading, and cooking for family and friends. She is convinced that nobody needs to be born an entrepreneur, but that entrepreneurship can be learned. The OU Entrepreneurship Competition shows that universities such as The Open University offer a fertile ground for student entrepreneurship and innovative start-ups.
