In this session, three module chairs (Dr Neil Younger, Dr David Scott, and Dr Lee Curley) will discuss some of the Level 1 modules in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. This session will serve as an introduction, highlighting how Level 1 modules are designed and taught to give you a broad understanding of topics and debates and to prepare you for future study.

The module chairs will discuss what it is like to be an Open University student and cover the importance of interdisciplinary teaching at Level 1; how this level prepares you for future study at the OU; and how module content is designed to be relevant to modern issues and debates (for example ‘From Covid-19 to Black Lives Matter: What is Criminology at the Open University?’). We look forward to having you join our chat.
