This event was an introductory session for those on our MA Education and MA Childhood Studies programme, and although primarily focused at postgraduate students, there will be content that may be interesting or relevant for all students.

In the last of our Boot Camp series we discussed all things assignment related. If you haven’t written an assignment for a while, or just want more information on what markers are looking for, we covered Tutor Marked Assignments, critical thinking and essay writing.

Over Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 October, we welcomed both new and continuing students to the OU. This event covered a multitude of topics, such as Study Support, Mental Health, Careers, Assessment, Open Programme and Flexibility, Computer Hacks, OU Students Association, the History of the OU, BBC Programming, News and Updates, and many more!

In Boot Camp 2, we discussed necessary study skills, and how to use them effectively. We covered productive time management, reading, notetaking, and how to be a reflective learner.

This all day drop-in event was primarily aimed at new Business and Law students, as well as those looking to refresh their memory. The sessions include: who supports you, online tools, time management, plagiarism, and thinking about your career - as well as a variety of tips, pointers and discussion from academics and students.
