Presentation time: Wednesday, 28 September, 2016 - 15:55

This session is about cognitive neuroscience research at the Open University. We will hear from two PhD students – Connor and Sarah – who are doing some exciting work that feeds into our understanding of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s. The focus in this session will be on the role of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) – a protein that supports the survival of neurons. Connor and Sarah will tell us about their research and what they are hoping to contribute to the broader understanding of neurogenesis.
