Kirsty Bradd

Kirsty Bradd has been studying with the OU for just over 2 years and has just started year 3. She has a full time job and 3 kids so her life is pretty busy. Her kids love sport so she spends most of her time watching them play and train for football games. When Kirsty is not being a mum, she loves to work out and do 4-5 strength and conditioning classes a week which helps her focus her mind – she calls it her therapy sessions.

Kirsty successfully gained a place on a management development programme with her employer SPS in 2020, which gave her the opportunity to enrol onto the apprenticeship degree. She started the degree in October 2020 alongside her day job (Client service manager) with SPS. In October 2021 she was unfortunately made redundant, however her new company Capital One allowed her to continue with her studies. After a year in that role, she was promoted and moved back to the previous company SPS as a Key Account Manager and is continuing with the course once again.

"Although my career over the past few years has been very unsettled, I have found the OU to be very understanding, and supportive, I have had some good results throughout my studies and some not so good but the support from my tutor has been fantastic, always a phone call away. Feedback has been great which helps me to work on the areas I needed to improve. I wont say its been easy, some of the assignments have been tough but they have all given me the opportunity to learn and to develop in my day job."
