Ximena Arias-Manzano

Ximena started her journey as a student for the OU in 1998 with the French intermediate L120 and I then went on to complete the Diploma in French in the next two years.  In between she became an Associate lecturer in Spanish in 1999 for the intermediate Spanish module L140.  Since then she has completed several other certificates in other languages and a Masters in Education in 2013. 

Through Staff Development opportunities at the OU she has gained huge expertise in the area of online learning and teaching, using VLEs, Equality Diversity and Inclusion, Forum moderation, Peer AL Support in the use of Adobe Connect as an AC champion, Mental Health First Aider, Course designer, to name a few. Ximena is currently studying her 9th language, Arabic.

Aside from studying, her passion is Argentine Tango dancing (for over 15 years), which perfectly matches Ximena’s passion for languages and travelling.
