Hannah Sargeant

Hannah is a Physics BSc graduate from the University of Sheffield, who went on to train and work as a Physics and Maths teacher before completing her MSc in Space Exploration Systems at the University of Leicester.

Hannah will complete her PhD in Planetary science at The Open University (OU) soon and is now working as a post-doctoral research associate at the Open University. In her research, Hannah has been investigating techniques to find and/or produce water on the surface of the Moon to support future long-duration missions to the lunar surface. She is involved in two lunar projects at the OU: the ProSPA instrument which will fly on the Luna-27 mission, and the LUVMI-X rover concept.

During her studies at the OU Hannah has been involved in numerous other projects including an internship at the Lunar and Planetary Institute in Houston as well as countless public outreach activities. She was recently awarded the Amelia Earhart Fellowship for her work and was included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list.
