What help to expect from Student Support

For this session, you will hear from two Educational Advisors from the Student Support Team who work with STEM students, answering their queries and assisting with a variety of study-related challenges. STEM students will receive a range of helpful tips so they have a better idea of what to expect when studying with the OU and what kind of help is available from the Student Support Team.

In this session we will take a closer look at what we have learnt about the best way to use your tutor from feedback from OU students, data collected from the OU and our own experience. We will also cover preparation between courses and how best to plan your time.

Online STEM practical experience using the OpenSTEM Labs

What are the OpenSTEM Labs?

We’ll be showcasing our OpenSTEM Labs, discussing which qualifications and modules in the STEM curriculum are using them and how we’ll be using them in the future.

We’ll also be showing you some activities that you can get involved in right now.

This session will give you a clearer idea of what it is like being an OU student, with first-hand feedback, information and helpful hints and tips. You will hear about the highs and lows, discover what students wished they’d known before they started studying with the OU in addition to learning about ways to make the most of your time as an OU student.

Once you got your degree, what's next – STEM Research and PhD students

In this session you will hear from current Planetary Science PhD students who are studying at the Open University campus in Milton Keynes. You will hear about what opportunities the OU offers to graduate students and the world-leading research it is involved in.
