Dr Jennifer Shepherd is a staff tutor in the Department of English and Creative Writing at the Open University. Born and educated in Canada, in 2005 she began working at the OU as a tutor on A103 An Introduction to the Humanitiesand now manages tuition for A111 Discovering the Arts & Humanitiesin Ireland & Wales. She also sits on the module team for A230 Reading & Studying Literature and helps to coordinate activities for the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences in Ireland, where she lives and works. She’s passionate about transatlantic women’s writing and the history of the interwar period, but also bakes a mean gluten-free Victoria sponge cake. She is currently undertaking a couch to 5k running programme to burn off all the cake eaten over lockdown.
