Andy Galloway

Andy has been an Associate Lecturer with Open University since 2010, having completed both the MBA and an MSc in HRM with OU, and as a former OU student he has an acute understanding of the competing pressures of family, work and study.  For the last ten years Andy has worked as an HR consultant delivering the Investors in People accreditation across all sectors and a range of industries and organisations.  Like many people, COVID has required Andy to work full-time from home, and in the last year much of his work with clients has been around adapting to new work practices and people management.

Andy lives in Northern Ireland, and tutors on a number of modules, including both the strategy and entrepreneurship modules at undergraduate level, HR in Context, which is part of the MSc HRM pathway, and currently on three modules on the MBA programme.  He is a music fan, a guitarist, a gardener, a reader, and church is central to his life.  He is passionate about adult learning and making higher education accessible to people who didn’t get the chance first time around – people like him.
