Presentation time: Tuesday, 22 June, 2021 - 12:55

We invite you to join an open discussion that relates to how the state should shape a pathway out of the Covid-19 pandemic following the mass vaccination taking place. Students will interact in the discussion via answering a poll and feeding their views to fuel the debate.

The debate will examine some of the deeper political, legal and sociological issues when looking at the implications mandatory vaccination or making it a requirement to hold a vaccine passport as means for people to enjoy their freedoms. This will provide you with an opportunity to explore consequences rules/guidance has on human rights, the constitution, and the power of the state.

The discussion will highlight the difficulties governments face when seeking to find a balance between maintaining individual freedom whilst setting/enforcing laws/regulations/guidance. Please join the debate…
