Event Image: ‘Research, teaching and you’ from FASS

On Thursday 3 May the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) hosted a live and interactive event to highlight, explore and discuss some of the exciting research that takes place in FASS. Discussions included a variety of topics as well as how this research informs OU teaching and your learning.

We were joined by leading researchers from Art History, Criminology, Economics, Geography, History, Music, Politics, Psychology, and Religious Studies, where we discussed a range of topics including ‘Digital Mothering’ and relationships; how History, Religious Studies, Social Policy and Criminology investigate and reconstruct patterns and flows of ‘power’ and ‘belief’; how different people interact with objects, music, literature, and the Classical world through the Digital Humanities; and understanding how space, place and gender work to frame the relationships and behaviour between people, organisations and states.
