Philip O’Sullivan

Philip is a senior lecturer and staff tutor based in the Geography department of the OU’s Belfast office. His background is in political theory, particularly anarchist political thought and its relationship to Marxism, and his current research interests include green political theory, environmental studies and Irish politics. He has written material for the Level 2 module DST206: Environment: sharing a dynamic planet and is also a member of the module team on the Level 3 module DU311: Earth in crisis: environmental policy in an international context. He has also worked for ten years as a tutor and currently tutors Earth in crisis, having previously tutored the politics modules DD203: Power, dissent, equality: understanding contemporary politics and DD306: Living political ideas. He lives in Belfast, where his hobbies include golf, football and dog-walking, sometimes all at the same time.
