Matt Staples

Matt Staples joined The Open University in 1995 as an academic related project manager working in a range of areas and became a part-time tutor in 1998. He joined the Faculty of Social Sciences in 2001 as a Course Manager, becoming a part-time Faculty Coordinator in the Cambridge Regional Office in 2007 and a full-time Staff Tutor in 2008 in the London Regional Office. He gained his first degree at Hull University in Politics and History (1993) and an MSc in Politics and Governance (1999) from the University of London, Birkbeck College, and is currently studying for a PhD with The Open University. He spent 10 years teaching with The Open University before becoming a staff tutor.

Matt is currently Deputy Chair of the new Level 1 Social Sciences course Introducing the social sciences (DD102).
