Ian Eyres

Ian Eyres is a Senior lecturer in primary education, a field in which he has worked as a teacher, writer and researcher since the 1970s. His work at the OU has related to many aspects of children’s language, from learning to write, to learning English in schools around the world. He led the initial development of the University’s first primary education foundation degree and is currently a member of two module production teams within the new Education Studies (Primary) degree programme. At the moment he is working on a book about English in Action, a very large-scale English teacher development project in Bangladesh. When he gets the chance, he enjoys cycling.
