Graham Harvey

Graham Harvey is a professor of Religious Studies.

His research and teaching largely focuses on the ways in which Jews, Pagans and Indigenous peoples understand and present themselves to others. In addition to publishing studies of contemporary Pagans (Druids, Witches and others), he has devoted considerable attention to “animism”: ways of treating the world as a community of persons, most of whom are not human, and all of whom live in relationship with others.

Interests in religion and ecology influence his delight in gardening and trying to learn what cats and hedgehogs want.
