What does psychology tell us about memory in exams?

< Back to Event

Exams involve absorbing a lot of information and then conveying parts of it in a short space of time. Heather Fields explains the process of memory and encourages you to absorb information as well as be able to retrieve it.

Heather also shares some techniques that can help you remember important facts and discuss how you might access memories in different ways if you can’t retrieve them quickly.

Presentation time:

I joined the OU as an Associate Lecturer more than 20 years ago, a few days after my first daughter was born. Before that I worked in a London teaching hospital, researching in areas such as dyslexia and – contrastingly - psychological aspects of diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis.
