Presentation time: Wednesday, 31 January, 2018 - 19:30

In this session we hope to raise your awareness of the benefits of becoming a member of a student society, with a specific focus on OULS. All OU students have a unique opportunity to get involved with people who share similar interests to you via the ever-growing number of affiliated societies, regardless of which course you are studying. Whether you feel socially isolated, overwhelmed or simply want to learn more about extra-curricular activities available to you, joining one of the 20+ (and growing) societies allows you to make new friends, enhance your career prospects and enjoy your time as a student.

During this session we will discuss:

  • The range of societies available, the benefits of joining a society, and how to become a member
  • How societies work and how to get involved in running your own society
  • Introduction to OULS, who we are, what we do, what we can do for you
  • Overview of events and opportunities
  • How to join
